ASSOCIATION OF HAWAIIAN CIVIC CLUBS

A RESOLUTION

No. 2017 – 13

REMEMBERING MARY LOUISE MULLER MAULIOLA

WHEREAS, Mary Louise Muller Mauliola (aka Marylou), was a founding member of the Maunalua Hawaiian Civic Club; and

WHEREAS, Marylou was born on the 14th day of August, in the year 1937, at Pu‘unēnē, Maui to Waldemar Paul and Eva Enomoto Muller; and

WHEREAS, Marylou was a graduate of Holy Rosary Grammar School in Paia, St. Anthony’s High School in Wailuku, and St. Francis Nursing School in Honolulu; and

WHEREAS, Marylou retired from the St Francis Medical Center after 40 years of service as the nursing administrator for the renal department and as the director of the Renal Institute of the Pacific at St Francis Medical Center; and

WHEREAS, Marylou was a proud member of Hālau Hula ‘O Kamamolikolehua; and

WHEREAS, Marylou spent her life helping patients and their families; and

WHEREAS, Marylou was the rock that her family, her siblings and their families and extended families depended on; and

WHEREAS, Marylou had a quiet grace, gentle humor and steady hand in guiding all seeking her advice; and

WHEREAS, Marylou was a loving daughter, a caring sister, a devoted wife and mom, cherished granny, outstanding nurse, supportive, reliable and involved member of the Maunalua Hawaiian Civic Club; and

WHEREAS, Marylou will be missed in her absence but her spirit will always be there with us.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs at its 58th Annual Convention in Seattle, Washington, in the malama of ʻIkuwā and the rising of Māhealani, this 4th day of November 2017, remembering Mary Louise Muller Mauliola; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a certified copy of this resolution be transmitted to sisters Kitty M. Simonds, Alice J. Worthey and Marion Muller, as well as the Governor of the State of Hawai‘i, President of the State Senate, Speaker of the State House of Representatives, Chair of the State Senate Committee on Hawaiian Affairs, Chair of the State House Committee on Ocean, Marine Resources, & Hawaiian Affairs, Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, and all County Mayors.

The undersigned hereby certifies that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted in the malama of ʻIkuwā and the rising of Māhealani on the 4th day of November 2017, at the 58th Annual Convention of the Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs in Seattle, Washington.
